I had heard about the Stenson bogey in late March on another blog.  As it were … there were no pictures to accompany “the claim”. Since then I have periodically searched the net looking for the fabled photo… and have found it!

The Doral Golf Resort & Spa played host to the 2009 CA Championship.  It was an important event for a number of reasons.  

What Question’s did we have Going into the Tourney?

1. The obvious: Would Mickelson’s game be in top form heading into the Masters?
2. The unlikely: Would Tiger Woods’ swing be the best it has looked since perhaps 2000?
3. The weird: Does Henrik Stenson wears boxer’s or briefs?

HUH?!  

Most people don’t know about #3 because it didn’t make the television broadcast.  Apparently, as rumor had it, Stenson was faced with a 2nd shot that had landed just inside a creek bed.  With visions of Woody Austin’s legendary face-plant at the Ryder Cup dancing through his head, Henrik did what any warm-blooded golfer would do… he removed his shoes and socks.
